Drat. Went to buy the midland brand radios at Circuit City and they had already sold out. It was a nice deal too, only $20 for a set that I could only find for $80. Oh well, gotta keep watching for a good deal before Terminator so that I call out over the radio "it's not a tumor."

The next best place I 've seen is big 5. They have radios in the ad just about every week

Random question but are we as a group going to try and wear the same uni for this event?

Last thought on this I saw we were just going to forward numbers and uniform types to WMA. I believe that the teams down there wear woodland, ACU digital, and Marpat.

Are they separating teams by uniforms? The last major event that we went to for UCA at the ol' ghost town, where they did that was kinda crappy. Our team ended up with a mass of little kids (don't take offense Harper, your BAMF) all wearing Woodland Greens sporting a lot of plastic Wal-Mart specials. Downwind and against well geared and developed teams in random countries camo (Jewish, German, Russian, etc, etc...).

Does everyone have a set of common camo?

I sent off the email to Hunter about our attendance and I asked him about the uniforms for the day and asked about how the teams are going to be sorted. So hopefully we hear back from him soon.

Ok, Hunter tells me that we should be working as a team for the event so we probably won't be split up. I think we should try to figure out something that will identify us as a team but doesn't require us to get matching uniforms. He also passed on some details about the event.

The first event is determining the two leaders of the human resistance. Everyone with a pistol and holster will be entered into the quick-draw contest; With guns holstered and the chamber empty, eligible players will be facing off one by one at a distance of fifteen paces. Think that's cool? A high speed camera will be capturing the shoot-offs in slow-motion for post game analysis! The last two standing in the brackets will be considered leaders of the two resistance factions who will be working together to destroy Skynet.

The first mission: locate and acquire your gear while avoiding Terminators on the field! Teams will be sent out one by one, hopefully to return and put points up next to their name and faction!

sounds good. my holster doesn't lend itself to quick draw so here's hoping one of y'all get it!

We could create our own uniforms. Woodland bdu's are dirt cheap, what about buying a set at the DI or taking an extra set you may have and putting them in a black dye bath to subdue them. It'll set us apart from the other woodland creatures, and unify us as a team.

Interesting idea. I'll try it when I get back into town and see how it turns out. Probably be Monday or Tuesday.
