That is true. I must tell you that your lack of command of the written English language is at the root of it. That is why I agree with so many of his comments. Based on what you type you have never had a teacher worthy of their salary. Just a thought for ya.

with the salary they make, i don't blame them. i got to say though, can't put all the blame on them- i blame the internet personally.

No, the blame rests with student, parents and teachers. If students who don't command the language at an acceptable level were not passed to the next grade it would help. I am afraid that I cannot support raises for teachers as long as the unions refuse periodic proofs of mastery of subjects being taught and as long as tenure exists.
If you want the quality of teacher to improve you have to open the venue to market forces.
Obviously, this is a soapbox for me. Sorry to expose everyone to my abbreviated diatribe. (if you look up diatribe I rest my case!)

My mom got fired for not passing kids that were well below the grade. It took her two years to find a teaching job again. Long, touchy story.
Teachers yes, but mostly coddling parents and lazy kids. There are too many short cuts and crutches, along with the shortage of standards and the denial that parents exhibit in regards to their child's problems.
Not to set up my own soap box- i also blame the Internet. and Twitter. and Twilight...

Re: Castle of Chaos 12/18/10
i've had both. crap teachers who couldn't recognize or didn't care why i was going downhill. teachers who just stuffed me into special ed programs more suitable for stoners and gangbangers, just so i wouldn't be their problem anymore. then teachers who actually cared about their students, helped turned my attitude around and are likely the reason i'm still alive. the students in those classes weren't the best influence either.
