Which colors?
Team Identification Armbands
At the end of the game I mentioned the possibility of getting some custom reversible armbands made. Basically they will be made of two different colored fabrics so that you can flip it back and forth to designate teams. Each member of CVA will have their own armband and we'll have a few extras for visitors as well. I think this will help with a lot of the confusion in games. First of all, does anyone think there is a better idea? Secondly, what colors do you want to use? I think yellow and blue would be a good option. I would suggest that we don't make them colors that we normally wear and also that we stick away from seasonal colors like white.

I like the yellow and blue for colors, this is a good plan!

I vote for blue and green. Bright green is still visible without being a beacon.

Saffron wasn't on the list so I had to go with blue.

Re: Team Identification Armbands
It looks like everyone likes the idea of blue and green. Something that I think is very important is that no team has the advantage over another. So no matter what colors we decide to go with I am going to make sure that they both stand out equally. If you are thinking that we going to have a bright blue (#1) and a dark green (#12) you need to change your vote. When the fabrics get purchased the two colors are going to stand out from any type of uniform that we use. I would prefer to have them be more subtle colors, but at the same time you need to be able to tell who isn't on your team from a distance.
Most likely we are going to go with a dark version of some of these colors so that your position isn't given away by your armband. Actually, I think I just changed my own vote. I am going to go with a Tan/Flesh and Grey combination. These aren't necessarily dark colors, but a nice solid strip across your arm will distinguish you and blend in with a bit of the scenery.

No matter what color we go with, could I get a little extra fabric to make velcro hook backed squares for the arm loop panels on my BDU's?

I likes that plan...
Re: Team Identification Armbands
I said I would have them ready in time for the scenario I was planning and so here we are. I have the material ready to be cut out and made into armbands. What I need from all of our CVA members is a size to work with. Get something to measure your arm with and post the results. The band is going to rest between your bicep and shoulder. It will be reversible with a bit of stretch to it. If you want it a bit snug then take off an 1/8 of an in.
So here is what I want from you:
My left arm size when slightly flexed and a shirt on (how it would be when holding a gun) is 13.5 in. So that's what you need to tell me. What I do is add about a 1/4 of stretchy fabric which will keep it snug and give me a bit of wriggle for my jacket. Send in your sizes fellas.

15", it's not that I have big arms, it's that I have huge arm pockets..

Re: Team Identification Armbands
I'd still like to get your arm size. I am going to be making extras and I would like to know a good range to base them on.
Re: Team Identification Armbands
Here is how they are turning out. These were the two best color options that I could locate in the quality of fabric that would last. I think they turned out pretty nicely. They slip off easily enough that you could quickly become a zombie, but are secure enough to stay on without constricting movement.
