Star Airsoft gun help
Does anyone know about the STAR brand airsoft guns? i have a STAR m4a1 carbine and the hop-up even when turned all the way down still shoots the bbs up in the air. STARs are unusual, the hop-up is ether just stuck to the air nozel or its attached somehow. i don’t want to brake the gun trying to separate the two so i need some help please. Any info would be appreciated.
Some things I noticed: after taking the gears and the lever out of the hop-up I looked into it and noticed that there is an extra strip of rubber covering the hop-up hole inside the barrel (and there is the normal bit of rubber on the lever also). I think that the rubber in the barrel alone is causing the sky rocketing bbs and with the hop-up on it just makes it worse.
So here is what I would like. If someone knows if the hop-up is just stuck or if it’s attached to help me out. If it can come off I have a spare hop-up system I can swap to see if it works. Or if the hop-up is attached then I would like someone that is experience in gun maintenance to help remove that extra rubber (maybe I could do it with a little instruction...)
I keep doing searches on the internet on this stuff and am not finding any help about STAR brand stuff. If you have anything to say, any help, comment, suggestions or what ever please post. i would really like to use this gun this coming game and maybe someone there could take a look at it then?
Thanks

Re: Star Airsoft gun help
Those crazy Star bastards!! It looks very much like the hopup unit itself IS attached to either the gearbox or the cylinder head inside the gearbox.

I can sort of understand why they'd do that. Better compression in that there won't be as much air lost between the hopup unit and the gearbox.
But to actually attach the thing...
I can take a look at it before the game if you wanted to get it to me. Message me and we can work out a day.
