New to Airsoft
Hello my name is Brian Warnes and I am sixteen years old and live in Providence. I bought an AEG (Thompson M1A1 Military Version) last July. I've been airsofting once and I was hoping to get into it. If somebody could give me information about when your guys's next event that would be great. Thank you.

Hi, welcome to CVA. As it happens our next event is this Saturday kicking off at 9am in Providence. We're meeting at Big5 at 8:30 and leaving to the field shortly after. Come on out, you're more than welcome.

What equipment do I need? I have my gun and two mags for it (380 rnds each). Do you want me to wear goggles or will safety glasses work?

Re: New to Airsoft
ANZI rated safety glasses or goggles. Your choice. Bring water, it's a team rule that you have to have water with you.
Be sure to read the safety rules and so you know how we play.

Re: New to Airsoft
That's it. Many people wear mouth protectors, at least half of us wear gloves, knee pads, etc. A few prefer full masks with goggles and most folks wear long sleeve camo. I recommend good boots that provide some ankle support, but again, it's up to you.
We don't have uniform requirements since we're one of the more laid back teams around.

Re: New to Airsoft
Brian, you did fine. At least as good as I did my first day and, if I recall, much better. Just get enough trigger time to know where your BBs will go and you'll notice a marked difference in your effectiveness.

Re: New to Airsoft
Best way to help the fog problem is not to play with a mask, and have open sided glasses to let through air flow (just ones that don't seal to your face)

Re: New to Airsoft
Thanks for the advice. I'm actually looking at the mesh masks that let you breathe through but will still give you face protection.

Re: New to Airsoft
Safety glasses are darn cheap...
I think that I can get them for like a dollar a pair in blue, yellow, orange, clear, and tinted.

Re: New to Airsoft
A shemaugh is a good way to go for face and neck protection. still a bit of fogging, but not as much as most masks, plus you can just wear it like a scarf if it gets too hot.

I bought myself one of these recently, it's still in the mail. I wanted some face/mouth protection while still being able to wear my shooting glasses.
