The Chronograph Question.
We need a chrono. We as a credible organization need one. Having a chrono for the August 22nd,23rd game will lend credibility to our org. I myself can't buy one for the community, I don't know if anyone else can afford to be so generous. So the question is how to go about funding one. We can accept voluntary donations for one from our group, we can ask for $8 a head in dues for one, we can host a fund raising BBQ or whatever we need to do to get it done.
This is the chrono I'm looking at. It's made specifically for our sport.

If anyone knows of a better deal for one by all means let's hear it.
If the chronograph is purchased as a community with funds donated by members of the community; I move that James be in charge of it for safe keeping between games, and bringing it to games, as he is mostly what I see as the organizing head of the CVA body, unless you don't want to, Jimmy.
What are the thoughts of the group about this?

I like the thought. Can everybody chip in prior to the overnighter? I know I can manage to scrounge up $8.

Re: The Chronograph Question.
I have been thinking about buying one just to have around to be able to check the different FPS on my guns just for fun. I plan on getting it soon and I could bring it to all the games. and thats the same one I was thinking about getting. Or im down to throw in some cash to help buy one as a group. Either way I'll probably still get my own though.

Re: The Chronograph Question.
I'd be happy to pitch in on a team chronograph if that's what ends up being decided. If Brandon ends up getting one and brings it out every once in a while to gauge peoples weapons, I would gladly buy him lunch as a thank you.

Either way we need one stat! I'll chip in whatever. I still like the idea of having one for the group but more power to Brandon if he gets one as well.
Re: The Chronograph Question.
i seriously think that we need to have the chrono before the cqb battle. and i agree with scott that we should have a team chrono. just let me know where to send the funds.
Re: The Chronograph Question.
The Email:
Fellow airsofters,
As of right now it's been up to the individual player to know the velocities of their replicas. Our group needs a chronograph to better present a safe environment for us to pursue our hobby in, and so that we can better enforce the FPS safety rules we have in place.
An airsoft specific Chronograph has been selected from www.airsoftgi.com for $115 ( http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=2943 ) and we are asking for small donations from any who will benefit from us having one so that the financial burden isn't placed on a single individual. This Chronograph will belong to the CVA community, and will be present at all CVA events.
The goal is to have the chrono up and running by august 9th so that we can ensure a safe day of CQC fun. If you're able to donate you can do so by making a Paypal payment to
PanzerfaustG36@yahoo.com
sending check or MO in secure envelope to
Andrew Child
1320 E 200 N apt 438
Logan, UT 84341
or by cash in person on the 9th at the game. A follow up email will be sent when we have reached our goal for the chronograph.
Thank you, and let's get it done,

Re: The Chronograph Question.
My $8 is on its way via PayPal. Thanks for setting this up Andrew, it will help out a lot. Even if it does make me find a way to power down my AUG a bit.

How can you power down your AEG, do you just have to put a different spring in it or is there another way?
Oh and i'll be getting you some money soon.

Brandon is teh awesome, and theirs no way we'll ever let him slip over to B37.

Brandon needs to ensure he is on a progressive and dominant team. B37 welcomes him with open arms.

Ok, I didn't know airsplat had chronographs. Depending on how Brandon's works out would anyone be opposed to shifting our sights to a like model? I can get one for $35 on airsplat. The madbull one is very nice, but if this one is just as effective... and much more attainable..
This could open us up to multiple chronos, allowing us to get everyone chrono'ed very quickly.

Re: The Chronograph Question.
Well I have tried my chrono out a little bit and it seems to work ok. Sometimes it just wont read, I have to shoot like ten balls before it will give me the FPS. I dont know much about chrono's though since this is the first time ever using one but im sure that there are better one out there then the one I got from airsplat. I will bring it on Sat. and you guys can try it out and see what you think.

Re: The Chronograph Question.
Thanks to Brandon for bringing the chrono at the game. I think it was pretty good for getting an estimate on where people were shooting. I think it was under estimating by 75-100 fps though. We probably should have limited a couple of guns that were over the limit. Luckily everyone who used an AEG did so with caution, from what I saw, and we had no major incidents. Plus most of the shots were 25 feet away.
We could get one like what Brandon bought if we don't get much funding to support it and be fine. I think it would be nice to get one just a little more accurate and I think it would be good to wait for when we can.
