Re: Black Thorn Down Oct 15-16
I'm already planning on it. By the way, welcome to the boards. The economy certainly sucks right now but housing can only stay down so long. I'd be interested in talking with ya after this event about how you went about putting it together. The largest game I've planned only had about 60 attendees and I handled what few costs there were myself. I'd like next years Op to be larger.

BTA has pulled larger numbers before, especially at Camp Williams. Were hoping to fine tune the organizing part. I'll be sure to let you know what we have learned from this event. Hopefully with more experience in sponsorship we'll be able to get more for the attendees.

You do realize that the minimum age is 18, right? Read both the ticket description at weaponblender.com and the rules for Camp Williams and BTA.

Re: Black Thorn Down Oct 15-16
Camp Williams requires an age limit of 18 or older. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult player. If Weaponblender allowed anyone under 18 to purchase a ticket without an adult, they have made a mistake. Please contact Weaponblender to resolve this.

Thank you Bishop...
It's true, BTA has been notified by our contact at Camp Williams that the the FOB&MAC MOUT site has not burned and Op: BTD is still on schedule.

Probably a good idea to see the age requirement...
Re: Black Thorn Down Oct 15-16
does this adult have to be related or do they just want somebody else watching the minors?Trooper wrote:Camp Williams requires an age limit of 18 or older. Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult player.

Related or not, just willing to take responsibility. The accompanying (participating) adult will be responsible for the minor(s) he/she attends with. Minors must still have a parent or legal guardian sign their waiver as well.

Re: Black Thorn Down Oct 15-16
can we get this waiver ahead of time? i know a few minors who want to go but their parents won't want to go that far.
bishop
Re: Black Thorn Down Oct 15-16
The BTA waiver is printable from our web site on the WAIVER/RULES page. We will try to get the Camp Williams waiver, to put it up on our web site too.

Re: Black Thorn Down Oct 15-16
do they have them printed at weapon blender? wouldn't be a bad i dea to have a stack ready. some parents don't feel like driving that far to sign a paper.
bishop
Re: Black Thorn Down Oct 15-16
hey let us know when you get that. we'll also need it for october 8/9 since nuac is planning on coming down and we have some underage members.

OP: “BLACK THORN DOWN” - RULES AND REQUIREMENTS UPDATE!
1-Age Requirements have been altered slightly.
Everyone under 16 must be accompanied by a participating parent or guardian (18 or over) both with signed waivers.
If you are playing with a participating guardian who is 18 or over, and you are under 16 you must still have your waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Waivers can be found on the WAIVER/RULES page of the BTA web site.
2-Bio BB requirements. There will only be “game-play” at the MAC/MOUT, so Bio BBs will not be required.
Biodegradable BBs only at the FOB! Check the BTA “game” description if the AO (Area Of Operation) is at the FOB, be prepared and have biodegradable BB’s.
Biodegradable BBs are not required at the MAC/MOUT.
3-Weaponblender ticket purchases.
When purchasing a ticket from Weaponblender in-store or online make sure you give the following information…
REAL FULL NAME / AGE / E-MAIL / PHONE NUMBER / WHAT TEAM YOU WISH TO BUY A TICKET FOR
Ticket customers under 16, indicate ‘who their guardian is’.
Ticket customers who are guardians, Indicate ‘who they are the guardian of’
4-Somali Militia requirements. Shemaghs.
SOMALIA MILITIA = Creative “costumes” that must include a shemagh, any color is acceptable but white pattern ones are preferred to segregate yourself from the tactical colors. (any camo except; ACUPAT, Tri-color or “Chocolate Chip” Desert, and Desert or Woodland MARPAT)
** ATTENTION**
Some of the airsoft clubs/teams have decided to represent their group within the Somalia Militia by wearing matching shemaghs.
BTA is wearing blue & white shemaghs as a sign of BTA unity! **
UCA members are wearing red & white.
(If your club/team wants to do this as well e-mail the BTA web site, indicate what club/team your from and what color shemagh you will be wearing, and it will be posted here.)

Re: Black Thorn Down Oct 15-16

The Camp Williams rules have been changed. If they still require a waiver it'll be available on the BTA web site before the event (You don't need a waiver to purchase tickets, you'll need it to check-in at the event.). 16 an 17 year old players no longer need a guardian, just a parents signature on their wiaver.
