Re: Dboys SCAR or JG AUG
I can't say for the D-Boys, but JG has a good rep for powerful guns, very upgradeable as they are almost exact TM clones. I've heard a few bad things about the quality of d-boys, but I haven't read anything on their SCAR.

SCAR needs work out of the box, but the external build is very nice. I've thought about getting one. Here's a pretty in depth review: http://www.airsplat.com/Items/ERM-BI-SCAR-01T.htm

another thing that you have to think about is if you're comfortable with a bull-pup design. I like bullpups, but as a lefty shooter, I can't use them very well. Also, the SCAR takes regular m4 mags, which most people have, while the AUG has special mags. L85s and fn2000s can, but those are the two bullpups that I can think of that can take m4 mags. Just some food for thought.

What are some of the problems with the SCAR? The reason i dont really want to get an M16 or M4 is because i wanted something different from everyone else, not that i dont like the M16 or M4. So your guys think that out of the two guns, the Aug is the best?
Re: Dboys SCAR or JG AUG
from the review on airsplat:
"(Things that must be done to make it reliable.)
* 7mm Metal Bushings
* Shims (reshimming)
* O-ring replacement (#116 o-ring from a hardware store)
* Hop Up Rubber (Guarder)"
Sounds like it's just got a couple easily correctable compression issues, and the gear shafts need a little tuning. Out of the box though, either of them will work ok.

Re: Dboys SCAR or JG AUG
oh, cool, thanks! The problem is that i have no idea on how to install those parts or if i really even want to worry about messing with them... And i think if it might shoot a little hot, 400+ fps, plus i was wanting to get a tight bore barrel... maybe the SCAR isn't the way to go... ill have to look more into the AUG, i have always thought the AUG looked cool and i hear it has great accuracy because of the Bull-pup system.
Re: Dboys SCAR or JG AUG
It does have great accuracy. You have an m16 barrel on an m4 length gun. One of the guys runs with a TM AUG. might want to talk to him. which model of AUG you looking at, anyways?

Re: Dboys SCAR or JG AUG
i have already talked to James about the AUG. Im looking at getting a JG Military AUG and then upgrading it with a 6.01mm tight bore barrel (509mm in length) and MAYBE other little upgrades as well...
Re: Dboys SCAR or JG AUG
ok i think i got it all figured out... After today's games and using Ace's M4, i think it would be best for me to get a G&G Combat Machine M4. I have looked into them in depth and think they are real cool. I would almost definitely be doing a 6.01mm tight bore barrel upgrade and extension. Thanks for all of the Input guys!
This is the gun im looking at:

Re: Dboys SCAR or JG AUG
i think actually i might get a KWA M4. My dad is looking at getting a good gun and me and him both found a very nice KWA M4 on Weapon blender that im pretty sure we are both going to get, + a few upgrades.
Re: Dboys SCAR or JG AUG
I actually have the DBOY SCAR. I can't really compare it to other guns, because it's my first and only legit AEG that i've had, but I love it. I've never had it jam, it's very durable, and accurate. Like Ace though, i've heard bad things about DBOY, but i feel comfortable saying it's a quality piece of equipment.
