Re: LATEST AQUISITIONS THREAD
Ya, I want my daughter to kick all the boys butts.
I got some graph paper, and drew some patterns. Then I took a plastic cutting board, put a double thick layer of masking tape wider than the pattern, and taped the drawing on over the top so it wouldn't move. Then I took a swiss army knife and cut it out. You then have a masking tape stencil. You can use one several times, but eventually it does wear out, either tears or looses stickyness. It took awile, but I kinda like the way it turned out. If you really want to do a good job you should overlap your colors more than I did, but I dont have alot of patience, and just wanted it done. Plus I figure I can add to it later. If you want really sharp lines for your digi you need to make sure to get your stencil stuck down good, and throw it away before it looses to much adhesive.
If you want a more effective camo job and not spend as long (like a tenth the time) on it you can just cut your paterns out of poster board and hold it close to your gun. In doing this you will have some sharpish lines and some faded edges, with overspray. Then you should do some whole shapes that are just misted on, for shadows. I think this style is more effective, but has a very dif look. Just depends on what you going for.
My #1 suggestion is that anyone who wants to do something like this should get some card board or something to practice first. Experiment to find out just what you like best, and get good at achieving that look, so you dont screw up your gun and be mad at yourself.

Re: LATEST AQUISITIONS THREAD
New MCLS style hydration backpack finally showed from china. I was able to integrate it into the chest rig, it's more comfortable to wear them that way actually, so I'm happy about that.
Also received my Russian submariner's stripey tank top (to help provide the americans and canadians at DW2 a more convincing ruskie to shoot at, aren't I thoughtful?), and a pair of ESS Ice shooting glasses assembled on a budget from repair kits from safetyglassesusa.com!
