Re: Milsim Labs Compressed air launcher
you should touch base with thor. He has a portable system that works fine. He can probably tell ya where the links are.

This reminds me of those 2-liter water rockets that I did back in Boy Scouts. It's probably the exact same principle. Would be fun in a game!

The only issue I'd have with that style is that you'd have to carry around a bike pump to reload on the field. One of those co2 powered fillers wouldn't be bad but you'd tear through 12oz cartridges pretty fast.

I like that you have to take time to pump it up. Adds a bit more to the process. I took part in a WWII themed game where one of the big objectives was to take out the artillery bunker. It was a really good event and watching people get into the game a bit and yell "incoming" while dropping to the ground was a lot of fun. If the artillery shell hit within 15 feet of your position you were dead. The shots were dispersed quite a bit so that it wasn't so much as to make it unfair for the defending team.

I have 2 large paintball co2 tanks. If we had the right valve set up it would work pretty good.
Re: Milsim Labs Compressed air launcher
I know people shy away from combustibles but I've got three propane cannons that could shoot nerf. Strictly artillery of course but the power source is compact and mobile.

I just need to work up the funds for a palmer co2 regulator and some hoses and we could assemble the meanest bit of plumbing in the valley.

an alternative to the bike pump, i have a battery powered tire pump/pool toy inflater from ryobi. about as big as a soda 12 pack. now ya just gotta lug it around...Panzerfaust wrote:The only issue I'd have with that style is that you'd have to carry around a bike pump to reload on the field. Hey Andrew, about how much did you say that solenoid cost you?

Re: Milsim Labs Compressed air launcher
They run about $15 at home depot, the project box and switches were another $10 at radio shack, PVC and parts were $25ish... hehe it added up quick

Re: Milsim Labs Compressed air launcher
Sweet. I am afraid my project is going to be pretty pricey too. I'm going to try to put together something that holds a propane tank hooked straight to the solenoid assembly and then to the combustion tank. Should be fun.
