Frozen Fun (Sat, Jan 3rd)

Date: Saturday, Jan 3rd (I think this is before school starts up)
Time: Noon - 3:00 pm (warmest time of the day)
Conditions: Hopefully snowing or at least some fresh powder
Location: DC-10

I am going to plan out a couple of different short scenarios to make the day more interesting and couple that with some of our regular games. If possible I would like to see a turn out from three distinct teams. Ask for camo for Christmas to go along with the other toys I am sure you'll be happy to test out on this first game of the year. I'm getting excited because I will have time to play for this stuff now that I am through with school and I want this to be a good start to a fun filled year. Start clearing your schedules now and lets have a massive turnout.

Nice looking side arm. However I think that you will be in for a surprise when you go to shoot someone with it on the 3rd. Gas and cold weather.... Not a good combination.... It will be funny to watch though.

In a quick glance it looks like we have about 8 people planning on attending. Being that there is a good amount of snow on the ground we should be able to play some unique games. Practice your fort building now because those skills are going to be needed. Everyone who has played at the DC-10 field is familiar with the big empty space next to the fenced off area. Well, that is where your skills will be put to use. I've got some plans that will have us playing on a unique field the likes of which will never be played on again. It really should be one of the best winter games ever, weather permitting.

As a part of that nasty variable the weather there are some other items to be aware of. The prediction is currently 27 degrees with 30% chance of snow. It looks like the skies will be clearing up on that day. So it shouldn't be too cold, but the snow is going to be a big factor for play. I want everyone who is planning on attending to make sure and give a confirmation of their attendance by Friday afternoon. What I would like to do is have everyone meet at Lee's and then pile into cars that are more suited for snowy roads (four wheel drive . . .) If there is a heavy snow fall the night before or it is snowing hard the day of the event then it will be canceled. Check the forum the morning of the event or call me. If you need my phone number send me a message or email.

Just drove up to just below the water tank. Assuming that we don't get any more snow I shouldn't have any problems getting my car up to the site. It will hold 4.

Slight weather concern-

I just noticed that there is a winter weather warning for Cache Valley in which we are going to be getting up to 8 inches of snow after a bit of rain today. Then the temperature is going to drop to 10-18 degrees during our scheduled game time.

I'm kinda concerned for how it will affect tomorrow and getting up the canyon road as well as if it will be pleasant to play in. I was kind of hoping for a day like today with easy packing snow. If we have really crunchy snow we might have a tiring repeat of last winter. I'm kind of leaning towards postponing the game until we get better conditions, but I want to know what everyone's thoughts are. If we had more people signed up to go I think it would make it more worth while, but chasing after 4 other guys in crusty cold snow might not be so great.

I vote to continue. The forecast has dropped to 4-6" and we're not going out until noon. I will be at the Lee's parking lot at 11:30 for anyone joining me. I think after the rain with that temp drop we should hopefully have a firm surface most of the day.

I agree with Reid... I don't really trust the weathermen so, lets see what happens.
