New Rule, Effective Immediately

I have discussed this with the officers of CVA who were in attendance today and the vote is unanimous. Effective Immediately:

While at a rally point or other public place no attendee of any CVA sponsored event may have a weapon on display in public places other than the playing field.

In short, if you wish to show up with your gear on that is fine. However, public display of any weapon(s) will not be tolerated. That means that your rifles and side arms need to remain in your vehicles and/or gun bags until you get to the field.

Any person in violation of this rule may be asked not to attend that day's event and repeated violations will result in that player being banned from future events.

Remember, we know the guns are toys, the public at large does not.

All attendees of any CVA sponsored event will be responsible for this rule whether they read it or not.

Please follow what Reid has posted because it is the desire for all of us to be safe on and off the field. I'll just add the recommendation (not required like the rule above) that you should not have weapons on display in your trunk or especially on a seat. Treat your airsoft gun as you would a real gun and the chance of having an incident with law enforcement will be next to none.

While I can see the wisdom in this rule and it has been recommended for a long time, has there been a recent incident prompting this?
