Looking for help customizing

Post by jimtimdim on Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:42 pm

So I've got two guns...a JG g36k and a JG MP5
The Mp5 is the one listed below.

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_166&products_id=2953

I want to make this Gun a little more accurate. I chrono'ed it with .20's at 405-410 but the accuracy wasn't quite what my g36 was...I moved up to .23's and there was a little improvement but not much. I'm thinking I'd like to put a longer barrel on it and get/ make a suppressor to cover the extra length...I was also thinking that maybe the accuracy was due to the gun just shooting too fast...is this a possibility or could the spring be brought down a notch. I've never taken apart my AEG's for the fear i'd do something terrible to their guts. How difficult would this upgrade be and about how much would it cost estimate wise...is this even a good idea?? Let me know what you PRO's think Smile I did see the link on how to make the suppressor and I wouldn't mind doing that to save a few bucks Smile Thanks for the help guys.

A longer barrel will help, but consistency is going to be found in the hopup bucking and the nub. I'd upgrade those to start, and add to that an extended barrel and you should see a drastic improvement.

OK awesome I'm trying to add those two madbull ones right now to an order they're about to ship for me...as for a barrel extension is it best to buy the extension and just screw it on to the end or do you replace the entire inner barrel with a longer one and the suppressor slides over it? I guess I'm just wondering if something like this would work?

Do i need to buy an inner barrel extension? or an entire new inner barrel that just long enough to reach the end of the above barrel extension

this is a little off topic, but how do you like the G36k, is the JG version a good one?

I really like it alot... it has awesome accuracy stock...The only problem I've had with it thus far is the mini battery doesn't last very long Smile So get an extra one Other than that I Really like that gun!

does it do a nun-chuck battery or just a regular battery and does a 9.6v regular battery fit good?

no it is a mini type.. like this...
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=27_46&products_id=3596

As for a 9.6 the battery space is pretty tight with the 8.4 that extra half inch form the one cell might be too much...I'd call the place you'd look to buy one from and ask if it would...Andrew would probably know too...As he is the man Smile

If your mp5 muzzle is threaded that suppressor will work. ASGI just calls them barrel extensions now instead of suppressors to appease the rulings of the great and terrible BATF. You'll also need to replace the entire inner barrel with a longer one as you said.

personally i'd rather get an outer barrel extension so you could also use a tracer. i recently swapped my zombat flashider with an outer barrel extension so i could use a tracer unit, and to drop weight. i used the bravo barrel which has all the little holes and it just looks epically badass.

Ok so this is what i ended up ordering Smile I have High hopes that I'll be able get it all in and installed by the game on saturday :)90 Heres to hoping!

370mm 6.03mm Tightbore
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=5843

Madbull red hopup bucking
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=4177

And last but not least the barrel extension Smile
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=2357

Yeah the extension says .45 on it but hey i can just say it's the newer MP10 right... I think that one shoots a .45 not a 9mm Smile

Does the barrel extension do much? I've heard that having a tightbore is much more important than barrel length when increasing accuracy.

The barrel extension in this case is just to cover the longer inner barrel that was installed. The new barrel goes right to the end of the faux suppressor.
