Do we have a support gunner?
Ummm just wondering if we have a support gunner because if we don't then maybe we could get a squad machine gun?

Panzerfaust has one. The question I have for you is... Do you really want to carry something that heavy all of the time? You said that your 12 right? I hope that you have been eating your Wheaties...
Most of our games aren't formal enough to break down into squad positions.
My suggestion to you is that you first acquire a decent primary gun. Come to games. Anyone can pull a trigger but it takes practice to hit what you want to hit. So learn to be a rifleman first, learn your primary weapon. If you can't hit anything with a lighter weapon, then there is no way in hell that you will be able to hit anything with something a lot heavier.
Re: Do we have a support gunner?
I agree with the Ninja Dude. Everyone likes the thought of the big, beefy guns. Once you start carrying that much weight things change. Also remember that a support gunner would need to big box mags to be effective. your costs for what a support gunner needs are going to be significantly (double and triple) higher than you are looking at.

Ok 'cause I just thought that it might be helpful because it would good to have a support gunner. And I meant polling our money to get one.And I didn't mean me to carry it I was thinking of one of you guys carry it.
Oh by the way Reid I didn't mean a SAW I just meant any type of support gun like a M60 or a M240 or of course a M249 SAW.

get a Cyma cmo31 ak74, you could get box mags for it, not to heavy only 5-8 lbs unlike a 20lbs SAW and it goes around 395 fps Max

The SAW is a nice wall hanger for right now. It comes out to slay during OP's where we're planning as running as a unit. Otherwise it's too much of a 17 pound pain in the ass to haul out to skirmish with.
I want to convert it into a MK46 one of these days...

It sure did a good job providing cover fire for the Russians. I would like to play a few more games where we participate as a team. We'll have to throw down the gauntlet some time when you are feeling better.

If I remember correctly but didn't the Americans slay the commie slime. I remember some American Idiot running in an open field trying to take on the Russians like he had just finished watching brave heart the night before.

Part 2 of the big Russian push for oil will, sadly, have to wait until spring. Mantua would be a great field for it. If I start planning now I can have it together by, say, August!!!

Re: Do we have a support gunner?
You guys haven't talked about this topic for about 2 months, but I do support gunner, I have a 5000 round box mag. Along with a bipod. Now it is a m4 but it still gives the covering fire and gets some good hits.
Re: Do we have a support gunner?
Your rate of fire kind of sucks if you are using a 7.4v. On top of that it really doesn't come up as far as squad roles.

Re: Do we have a support gunner?
I have a great rate of fire, I use a 8.4v I also have another backup battery that I just ordered
Re: Do we have a support gunner?
I've found that the gear isn't so much of a determining factor as to how you play. If you really are a support gunner are you providing cover fire while your team mates move forward? Or is it just that you have lots of ammo and shoot whenever you think you saw someone even if there is thick brush between you and the target. Most of us could be considered support gunners with just a couple high caps.

Like Scott said, our squads aren't really set up along those lines. Bring it out and we'll see about working some gameplay into the role.

Re: Do we have a support gunner?
will do, it was just a comment/thought though so not really a biggie, just saw that you guys were talking about it, really when I'm having an airsoft battle with my friends, our squads aren't set up like that a whole ton either so its all good.
Re: Do we have a support gunner?
I dont really think you need big cheap expensive box mags for being a support gunny, I could by some High caps and a bipod for my ak and turn it into one...but I dont really care to, its the same gun either way. Box mags I think are cheap sometimes, I like lowcaps and mid.
