--- LAHDEN FREE MEDIA ASSOCIATION: Breaking News ---
As the time draws closer for Bokassa to sign the Lahden Peace Act, things are beginning to get finalized for the new governement. We have recieved word that the Peace Act has been finished and will not be changed from now until its signing date of August 21st.

As Lahden sits right now the people have no idea if they are within the laws of the peace act or they are already in violation and what action would be taken against them by breaking a law. We've recently been able to obtain information regarding one of the articles within the peace act, Resisting Arrest and details follow:

Resisting arrest is a term used to describe a criminal charge against an individual who has committed at least one of the following acts: Eluding a peace officer who is attempting to arrest the individual. Using or threatening to use force against an officer during an arrest. Providing an officer with false identification (either verbally or by presentation of a false official document, i.e. a fake ID. The crime is punishable in 5 minute increments up to 15 minutes in a holding facility; however the Judge can make the final term of punishment up to 3 hours depending on severity.

As you can see, penalty does not seem too harsh but is left up to the judge to determine how long you will be held for. Will Lahdens jails be filled quickly? We won't know until the Peace Act is put into effect and people either obey or resist.

The LFMA talked to their informant about what the Jabir is expected to do the night of the peace act signing, and there were mixed reports. "... Jabir are in a state of waiting, It's under my belief that if the time is right for the people to take back Lahden it will happen.... Until that time we expect Bokassa to have full control and little resistance."

So will we see the big resistance that the streets feel like they'll do, or will Bokassa have an easy time running his new country? We'll see on August 21st.

--- END
