In this section only Alpha team members will be able to see details about the upcoming event. If you want to post any questions specific to your team without others being able to listen in do it here. I'll be posting details about your assignment soon.

Mission Details Mi-17h10
You have been flown into hostile territory in small groups aboard specially refitted helicopters. From all signs your entry has gone undetected. According to the necessity of the mission, more troops can be flown into the area which are waiting across the border in Nicaragua. With as small of a force as possible you are to maneuver undetected to the countries leading radio station. Once you have found the station you are to secure the area and maintain control until the waiting support can be flown in. At this point you will be given your next set of instructions.

There are several different outposts in the area and a main Honduran military base. It is possible to disable these locations and hinder the military's ability to quickly move support troops to the area. If you encounter any troops you have been given the go ahead to eliminate their presence. Be careful, there are civilians in the area and any casualties will be subtracted from your pay and could mean that you don't get paid at all. Remember, you are Venezuelan Mercenaries with a job to accomplish. The faster you do it, the sooner you go home and get paid. If you are killed or captured your family will still receive your earnings, but the Venezuelan government will deny that you were hired and you are on your own.

Respawns: To begin the operation of play you will be entering the field in small groups over a period of time. In each of these groups there will be a certain number of team members designated as medics, these are your main source for respawning. Your medics will have 3 bandages each. If you are hit you call hit and drop to the ground where you are and wait the mandatory 60 seconds. If you feel that your medic is closer and it would be shorter you can remain on the ground and call out medic. If while waiting for your medic you suddenly realize that the enemy is about to capture you don't just stand up and walk away. This is where good sportsmanship comes in. If you truly were going to wait for a medic then I want you to count slowly to 15, and if after 15 seconds you haven't been captured then you can walk away. I don't want people popping up right before they are captured and saying "oh, i'm dead you can't get me." So the fairest thing I can think of is that once you decide it isn't good to wait any longer, you have to stay there for 15 more seconds (actual time, not look how fast I can count time). If you do "bleed out" and decide not to wait for a medic you need to head back to the dropzone where you entered the field. This will be the locaiton you are at when the game starts. Once you are at the dropzone you can "call in" for help. It takes a helicopter 5 minutes to reach your destination. After 5 minutes you can enter the game (unless you are a medic and have used bandages). Now helicopters don't just carry 1 person. If while you are waiting 2 more guys show up they will enter the game with the person who started the 5 minutes. If someone shows up after the 5 minutes, they will have to call in a new helicopter.

What to do if captured - If you are captured remember they can "carry" you away just by holding onto a piece of your clothing. They can heal you and put you in a guarded position which means they must keep their gun trained on your feet at all times. You must follow their commands, they can make you move (if healed) at a slow jog pace. If they tell you to move faster because you are walking extremely slow on purpose hoping your team will rescue you better pick up the pace or I will deal with you. Make sure you understand what takes place for a proper search and do not cheat. If you guys will follow the few rules that I have specified I will give you a lot of leway to try and escape. That's right, at any point during this you can try to escape. Now, if for some reason they don't heal you just start counting from the time you are captured. After 4 minutes I consider that your wounds have been treated and you are at full health. If they have been "carrying" you and it has been over 4 minutes do you need to tell them, "it's ok, I can walk now." No. Instead you could play it up a bit from the start so that their guard is down and they don't think about you being able to run away. Perhaps slump against a tree whenever they let you go. They will be taking you to one of their holding facilities and once you are there they can move you no longer. At this point listening to their directions depends entirely on the weapon they have pointed at you. They can tell you to do just about anything, and for the most part you should probably do that because in real life you would be scared of being shot. But if you slowly inched away whenever the guards backs were turned until you found the perfect moment to make a run for it and burst through the trees to freedom. I expect that sort of thing. Here's the deal though. If you are shot while trying to escape you must walk back to the holding area on your own. If however you make it away from them and get to where you are no longer in sight and they can't find you, you are a regular player again. Though, unless they didn't find a two shot pistol rolled up in your sock you are unarmed.

Let me try to simplify it a bit. IF they have a gun pointed at you (or are currently being carried), you haven't been captured for more than 4 minutes, or in some other way you wouldn't really try to escape, you cannot attempt it. Otherwise you can talk your way out, or try any other means of escape.

AA Gun - Due to the distribution of AA guns across the country, it is going to be more difficult for our pilots to get reinforcements to the field. This means that until the AA gun closest to the drop zone can be taken out, the time it takes reinforcements to arrive has increased 2 minutes (From 5 to 7 minutes). You are not required to take out the AA gun and it is an optional objective.

Mission Details Alpha10
Within the red is the field of play. The other two green highlighted areas are only estimates of the locations for the AA gun and the radio station. At the bottom is the dropzone for your helicopters. Your team will be entering the field from this location. Whether we will be able to set up some gear in that area will depend on if there are campers in the area. Basically you will be entering the field from a specific location that will likely be far from your gear and the parking area so you'll have to load up on ammo and anything else you will be needing. Also, you will be entering the field in groups of 4 and 5.

Wow James Awesome work man! This is going to be an excellent scenario! Guys on alpha keep thinking of ideas and ways to move about. And remember to act it up! The more you get into your roles the funner and more exciting it is for everyone! Remember we are heavily armed mercenaries with a purpose. And I for one Want to GET PAID!

Andrew, in Phase 3 there is going to be an opportune moment for you to use you M249 right at the end. Just as a heads up if you want to. Because at the point I am thinking of Alpha will need all the cover fire they can get.

Alright Alpha team, 4 of your team members are going to be assigned as medics. If you want the position you can call out here, but they will be finalized at the field. Remember that medics have 3 bandages each. You might want to start figuring out how you want to move towards the objects and split into smaller units.

Can't tell you about what the other teams are planning and where their placements are. I can tell you ahead of time that you can't go too far into the ravine at the top of the map. Personally I don't think it would be a good idea to try and get a lot of people to move along that steep side, it isn't really suited for it. It would make us vulnerable to attack from above and be very difficult to fight our way out of if there was any size force at the top due to the steepness. That slope is better suited for 2 maybe 3 man teams that go very slow. By the way I should be joining Alpha for the event, but it depends on how much management needs to take place. I have to make sure everything gets started smoothly.

Excellent. I'm planning on bringing it to provide base of fire to aid our opening actions.
