AGM MP40

Re: AGM MP40
I've owned one, worked on it, modified it to be more realistic in looks and function, loved it and then sold it off. Very nice gun if you can get a good deal on one. It's almost all metal, except for the parts that would be bakelite on the real one are made of ABS plastic. It's got a proprietary gearbox loosely based on a modified version 3 design (found in AK47's), meaning if the gearbox shell cracks you're kind of SOL. Fortunately the version3 is built pretty tough. I upgraded mine with metal bushings and a M100 spring to get it around 350fps. Don't buy the one at Big5, although I would suggest going there to fondle their display model. The gun can be found much cheaper online, airsplat.com in particular carries the MP40 for $115. Spare 50 round mags on airsplat, when they're in stock, are dirtcheap ($5) as well. There are no hi-caps available. I'd be happy to field any more specific questions concerning that Sub'gun.
