Summer Schedule Empty Summer Schedule

Post by Donknottz Mon Apr 20, 2009 9:08 pm

It's time to start putting together a summer schedule. Last year we worked off of an every other Saturday schedule, with team leaders and administrators organizing the events. This sort of arrangement seemed to work for the greatest number of people. Recently we have seen a greater interest in playing with other organizations and that only happened rarely last year. I think it would be good for this to happen and hope that it does. I propose that we set up a biweekly schedule of events, these events will be our "regular" games. If we are invited to an event by another team and the majority of our players want to go participate, this event can replace the regular game. In a like manner a couple events will be targeted towards inviting other groups to come and participate, and of course all games are open if they just choose to come on their own.

Currently all teams have been dissolved and we have no team captains. I still encourage you to approach Reid, Andrew, and myself if you have any concerns during scheduled games until new captains have been established. Since we don't have team captains to switch back and forth between to organize games things will be a bit more open. If you would like to try out a scenario for the day or even just a game type, let me know and we'll figure out a date on the schedule. If no specific scenario has been outlined for a date, it will be considered a "pick-up" event and the styles of play will be determined by those who show up to play.

So, do we start our biweekly schedule on the 25th of April or the 2nd of May. The only concern with starting April 25th is that it will place one Saturday on the 4th of July. Post if you have any other concerns and speak up if there is an event we should add to our calendar.

I choose the 25th. The 4th of july isn't a travel holiday for us.

Since only one person, Delta, posted that work schedule would be helped by a certain schedule we are going to go with that. Sorry I didn't get to this sooner but it doesn't matter too much since that means the next game is going to be on the 9th of May. So put it in your schedules that every other Saturday is a planned event day. Most likely the weeks around the 4th of July will get fudged a bit so it isn't a big gap between games. Post if there are other events of interest and please let me know if you want to organize something in the future. Here's looking forward to a great summer.

Also, with a set schedule it makes inviting friends even easier because they can get work off too. It's time to get new blood into the sport and we also need to do some serious searching for new fields.
