Game Nov 22nd 9am - 1pm

I'm thinking that a game Saturday the 22nd up Providence canyon would be good. Some simple games of chaos, coalescence, capture the flag etc. Who's in?

I'm out. Got the word today. Busy season just hit us like a ton of bricks, and my saturdays are shot now. I'll be out of commission until after december, maybe january. stupid treadmills.

w00t! Told my boss I need half a day of "therapy" on saturday, and she's working with me to get me out early. I can be there before noon!

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is trying to get the word out that Air Soft/Paintball games are not allowed in Providence Canyon.

The area in Providence Canyon that has been used for air soft and paint ball is on a UDWR Wildlife Management Area (WMA). This type of activity is not allowed on our WMA’s. We are trying to reach as many people as possible to alert them that air soft and paint ball games are not allowed under the UDWR Lands Use Rule.

We are asking that the Cache Valley Air Soft group cease using the Wildlife Management Area for this activity.

OK, I guess Providence is out now. Too bad, it was a pretty fun place to go. The only other place I know of is the site up Logan Canyon, across from Zanavoo. Where are some other places to go now?

Here is a map from an online book, Access to Wildlife Lands in Utah. It's crazy, but our field happens to be just within their land boundaries. The brown is WMA land and the green is the forest service, it's on page 35 for the Millville Face WMA.

In order to obey the laws and keep a good name for Airsoft, we need to find some other good open areas to play.

I contacted DWR about the situation and assured him that Cache Valley Airsoft will no longer plan any events at the field in Providence Canyon. This brings me to the next important point that others have already addressed. Where can we play now? Well, we have basically 2 locations. We need everyone's help in looking for new areas to play. I asked DWR if he could direct us to any other areas that we might be able to play and we'll see what he has to say, but I think the information Delta posted is quite useful.

If you have questions or ideas about possible fields that we could use I suggest you have that conversation in the Fields section of the forum. Only members of our group are able to access the information there. I say this because if the paintball groups are looking for a new place to play we don't want them coming to our new, or old, locations. So please post information relating to fields in the correct section. I would also suggest not posting maps.

I also wanted to remind everyone that we need to do our best to put forward a good image for airsoft. The use of bio bb's is very nearly a fixed requirement in my book and soon it will be for our events. If you purchase bb's make sure they are biodegradable. Also, thanks to everyone who makes sure to clean up after events and keep the areas nice for whoever comes after us. We really stand out from the paintball groups because of how we treat the field and that we leave it in a natural state.

How far up is the DC-10 field? Is this where we want to play tomorrow?

There's a couple great playable spots not too far into the canyon, or the 'campsite' is about a mile up the road.
