What Brand To Buy Empty What Brand To Buy

Post by Delta Mon Sep 15, 2008 6:58 pm

I'm still very new but want to get a good AEG that can be upgraded and is pretty reliable. I was just wondering, in everyone's opinion, what brand(s) should I look at? Right now I just have an M4 from the Sports Authority, and as Reid put it, that's all I need to say. Anyway I was just looking for a little input before I shell out any more money.

Depends how much you're looking to spend, model etc. Probably the best bang for your buck is going to be a Dboys, or Cyma brand AEG. Those will get you into the game quickly and still be competitive, while only running you $100-$150 depending on the model. If you go $100 above that you can spring for the Classic Army or Tokyo Marui brand AEG's which are considered to be the cream of the crop, and are much more durable over time.

Check:
www.airsplat.com for Dboy and Cyma AEG's
www.airsoftgi.com has a good selection of CA and TM guns as well as

Thanks for the input. Yea, I kind of want to spend a bit more to get a higher quality gun. I will check out TM and Classic Army and see what they have to offer. I also read that the barrel diameter along with its length plays a big role in how accurate your shots are. In your opinion is this accurate?

Stock barrel inner diameters are generally ok to start. Barrel length affects accuracy, barrel diameter affects range and fps. Bear in mind that there is some overlap between them as well.

The best choice is TM. But its costly
A good second would be a JG or Echo1
Stay away from dboys like the plague

TM is fine but I like the Metal body of the Classic Army. Echo 1 can burn in hell.

I've had a full metal JG MP5 for some time now, and I have yet to have an issue with it. The only drawback is that the smaller mp5 mags don't hold as much as the m4 mags, but if you don't spray bbs like there's no tomorrow, that's not even an issue.

Yeah im not a big fan of dboys either. I got a dboys full metal m4 and I wasnt very impressed with it at all, so I sold it about a week ago. I have a JG mp5 that I like alot and an ECHO 1 g36c that I also really like. I would go with either of those ( they're really the same thing since ECHO1 buys JG's and rebrands them)if you dont want to spend to much $. I also just got a CLASSIC ARMY M4 that I havent tried out yet, but I like the feel and the look of it. Its the plastic body sportline package. I got it from airsplat for about $135 with battery and charger.

As i said earlier, i have a jg, and also my little bro has a jg, and we havent had any problems and they perform superbly, also they are compatible with aftermarket TM parts, so you can upgrade them till the worlds end if you were so inclined. Also ive read a lot of reviews about jg and it seems pretty well liked. ive never shot a TM or CA though, so dont really have anything to base my guns performance on though.
*edit* i also think it would be sweet to get a 6 shot grenade launcher though, and just play with that, but thats prolly not what your looking for.

Don't forget that with more barrel length comes less maneuverability through cover. So make sure that is your style of play or you'll be hating it quickly.

Aye that is true. I have a 20" barrel on my M16, which at times can be a pain. But on the other hand I think that is has been range and accuracy than some of the short barreled guns I have played with.
