Night Operations
I haven't played too many games at night, but there are a few things that I noticed are helpful when playing. Post any suggestions or ideas you might have that could help things go smoothly.
Communication is very important. It's hard enough for everyone to be organized during the day and it is that much worse during the night. So having people with radios is even more helpful. Also, a good description of the scenario that is simple before the event begins helps. I think the thing that people often get caught up in is being too quiet. They try to whisper constantly and aren't willing to speak up. Even when a skirmish starts and stealth doesn't matter, people seem to think that communicating with their team mate isn't a good idea. Dark equals quiet no matter what. If you are calling out where the enemy is, that is much better than keeping quiet and leaving it up to yourself to get them. Your teammate might think that the person running up the field is on their team, but if you call out and let them know they can take the shot and get the kill. Once cover is blown you should communicate with your team even more than during the day to avoid friendly fire.
Flashlights are key. Even if you don't use it, I think everyone should have one just in case. What I would do to help keep everyone night vision is to get some of that red Christmas saran wrap and cover the lens with it. Red light does far less damage to your night vision than does a white light. You're able to recover much quicker. Blue is a good one as well, though I have found that it doesn't illuminate the enemy as well.
Some people have suggested that a "Flash" and "Thunder" method be used. For example, if you hear someone in the bushes to the side of you and you're not sure if they are your team mate then you call out the signal before blasting them. Obviously you don't want to give away your position to the team, but if you have practiced this one and know that everyone is good as responding quickly, you can easily get your shot off before they know what is going on.
Call "Flash" + no immediate response = shoot
Call "Flash" + "Thunder" = equals a team mate
