new gearbox
Andrew, just got the DBoys gear box in and have everything reassembled. When I put the motor in it works fine until it's depressed enough for the bottom cap on the pistol grip to fit properly. Is this just a contact issue with the wiring or can the gears be tight enough that the motor can't turn it? If anybody else knows don't hesitate to jump in.

That's probably the case, I would suggest reshimming the gears entirely.
Best way to do this is to open up the gearbox, remove the cylinder/piston assembly, and close the gearbox with a couple screws to tighten everything down. Reaching in through the space left by the removed cylinder you can reach the top of the Sector gear (gear that contacts and pulls the piston).
You want to be able to spin the gears with little resistance, at the same time you want minimal lateral motion in the gearshafts. Remove or add shims to the gearshafts as needed. It's very much trial and error, expect to open and close the gearbox multiple times until it's tuned just right.
A properly shimmed gearbox will minimize undo wear and tear on internal parts, minimize gear noise, and is overall a very good thing.
There are shimming guides online that are useful as starting points, but every gear/gearbox combo is different. I.E. I have almost NO shimming in the King Arms version3 box in my FAL paired with a set of system helicals. They spin freely with almost no side to side play.

Andrew, helllppp!!! Alright. Here is where things sit. I can get the gun to fire until the pistol grip cap is put on. It is acting like the motor is bound or too far in. I can't get it to adjust, it is either too loose (chewing up gears) or acts bound. I can position it by hand and get it to work. Would you have time to take a look at it prior to the 22nd? Let me know, I don't mind paying for the help.

Have you played with the motor height set screw in the grip's baseplate? It's a 1.5mm allen key I believe, and turning it adjusts the depth that the motor is pushed into the gearbox. If you've tried that and it's still giving you trouble let me know. I can absolutely take a look at it before the 22nd, but if it's not costing me in parts I don't like charging for it

I will pick up those bushings from you this weekend and see if I can just transfer the parts I need to the jg box. One thing that occurred to me, could the wires be grounding out if the wire connects are bending over the posts too far?
