Airsoft vs Teeth
Panzerfaust
It happens, a bb will hit someone in the teeth and teeth will break. It doesn't even take a high velocity spring to produce these results. I've seen cases of a stock aeg knocking out an incisor. It's rare but we need to recognize it's inherent danger. Some people have taken to wearing full face masks to avoid the possibilty, others wear mouth guards. Certain venues requiring insurance will add a balaclava to your list of protective gear to prevent the possibility. I think the best prevention is awarness. Be aware of the danger, be aware of your surroundings on the field. Keep your mouth closed or teeth covered during a fire fight, and shooters avoid face shots if possible.
What are your thoughts on this?

We had a guy yesterday almost have that problem. Luckily 2 bb's hit his lip and the third he just swallowed. (I swear that I was not aiming at his face).... Other than that it is good to be aware. Beyond that I really think that it is personal preferance.... I would be pretty pissed if I got a tooth shot out, but wouldn't hold it against anybody. That is a risk that I'm willing to take. I really like the idea of having protective gear on hand just in case. I think that I would be more likely to use gear if we played at closer ranges or CQC. Especially CQC, coming around a corner and getting blasted in the face would kinda suck with out something protective.

Pretty easy to fix. Face masks, balaclava, shemagh would all do the trick.

I've thought about since getting shot in the lip like the second time I played. It's a risk, it's inherent, but I don't want a big monstrous face mask closing in my field of vision. I'll accept the risk with a pair of safety glasses

I keep planning on getting a nice mouth guard to play with. As soon as I find a good cheap one that doesn't make me feel like a horse with peanut butter on my lips, I'll start playing with that in. I have spent too much time and money on my teeth to have anything happen to them.
On a side note, good goggles are always worth the price. Way back in the day I played with just my normal glasses and they are definitely not good enough. I chipped the side of my lens and am lucky to still see out of my left eye. Thus everyone is probably annoyed with how paranoid I am and persistent that everyone wears eye protection. On the other hand, I don't care if some of you are a bit more ugly and have a few chipped teeth.

definitely not, you only get one pair of eyes. Take care of them.

Airsoft won this weekend. I went sliding down a hill with Andrew's shotgun in my right hand and my pistol set to full auto in my left. I surprised 3 Bravos who were about to make a move on one of the flags. I only got one of them and the butt of the shotgun got my tooth and I am 1/16 less of a bottom front tooth.

that's so crazy. Who was it that took a round in the tooth last game after some excessive fire? Glad they fared better.

Ann was the one shot in the teeth. I guess it hit the top of her tooth and rang through her skull pretty good. Guess it was a bad tooth day for the family. The good thing is she had fun and got a few kills as well.

I can find a discount site for teeth for those who want the George Washington look. Glad everyone got through without any serious problems!
