Team Uniform

Post by reidc on Wed Feb 18, 2009 2:09 pm

Any ideas for a common team uniform? I am looking at putting together a new load out this summer and i'm leaning toward multicam. ebairsoft has a good selection of multicam vests and pouches as well as the BDUs. What do ya'll think?

Multicam is pretty good stuff. I personally would lean more towards the British BDU's or even the German Flectarn.

Between the two I'd choose Flecktarn. I don't see myself spending the money needed for all the gear though. If there are better options this summer I'll look again. I like Multicam for it's use in a wide range of environments.
Andrew, what has your experience been?

This place in the late summer/fall was created for multicam. During the green spring it stands out a little more but isn't ineffective. I like it, and I've been considering a set for a while but it's a little further down on the list than Italian Vegatata, and Danish M84 fleck, and a norwegian jacket, rhodesian, etc etc etc... *sigh*

anyway:

actually, i've been looking at that site for the load out myself. the biggest issue i have is range of accessories vs price. If it costs more than about $200 for uniform and gear i probably wouldn't do it.
Weapon blender has flecktarn BDUs for about $28. Just can't find the range of pouches, etc.
I looked at the vegetata. Would a bleached out marpat do for that?

as far as gear in the vegetata pattern itself, not really. I'd pile some OD gear on it.

I was very surprised to see replica Veg bdu's on EB. The real deal is extremely difficult to find, and if you can find it, it's extremely expensive.

Another note on team uniforms. Since we rarely play with other teams it would be more out of certain people being collectors than a requirement I would think. Also, if team Wolf comes to fruition and develops into a strong third team, what they end up doing for a uniform would have an affect on any sort of official CVA team uniform.

It would be fun if we all hand an OD cap or something that we can all wear that is the same and distinguishable in combat. Those are a couple of the thoughts I had about the subject. If anyone finds a good place for us to do a bulk order that would be pretty cool. Though, I would suggest doing something like that later in the season when more of our group is in bloom.

the biggest problem I see for B37 is attrition. The only dependable people right now number 3. If team wolf wants to chat I'd consider folding in gradually.

Just found this:
http://weaponblender.com/index.php?productID=517

If they are sure of a resupply I'm sure they'd pre-sell enough for a team.
Just a thought

I like the: Poly / Cotton Twill BDU Patrol Caps - Olive from bdu.com
The german cap would leave me wanting the whole rest of the uniform.

And the whole rest of the uniform leaves you wanting the flak vest, helmet/cover, webgear, patrol pack, and a G36...

It's trouble I tell ya!

I know, let's form an irregular uniform with the exception of a cap. Something with a quote from Larry the Cable Guy sounds about right.
I think my first priority will be to finish the pistol I need to replace first. I think the CM030 with a highcap will finish weapons for now and I can get serious about a new load out.
Must say, I like the ACU for the time in between snow and spring. I like Multicam and Marpat as well. I'm good for anything that I can match gear with. I thought for a bit about about a full OD Green load out.
