RS Type 97

Post by reidc on Thu Oct 09, 2008 9:31 am

Has anybody seen any references about anyone other than RS making a Type 97? I'd like a bull pup but don't like the Steyr look enough buy one.

I have spent a great deal of time looking at guns and here are two that I really like. They look like the Type 97 but I haven't found anyone other than RS that makes it.

TM F-MAS(F1)

G&G L85-A1

Copy of the G&G L85

The TM FAMAS is kind of a turd. It's TM's very first leap into the AEG class, isn't very well built, and features the Version 1 gearbox. If anything breaks in there you're SOL because nobody makes replacement parts for that gearbox.

and it's french.

It kind of sucks that TM won't upgrade their FAMAS as it really is a pretty cool gun. I was about to get it but was hesitant because it is so old and I kind of figured that it may not be a good investment.

The Army l85 appears to be closest. The main reason for the gun is a short frame with long barrel.

http://www.airsplat.com/Itemdesc.asp?ic=ERM-JLS-E03-FN&eq=&Tp=

realized JLS makes a FN style bullpup that takes STANAG mags.

Saw this one. I don't know who did the write up on it but it appears that a better bet would be to wait for the production issues to tighten up a bit.

yeah I wouldn't play with it right out of the box. fixer upper, I like the FN design though. Perhaps when A&K clones the G&G F2000 that's supposed to be released in the hopefully not so distant future.
