Do we have a support gunner?

Post by Jerico on Mon Nov 02, 2009 11:13 pm

Ummm just wondering if we have a support gunner because if we don't then maybe we could get a squad machine gun?

It's a SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon)

Panzerfaust has one. The question I have for you is... Do you really want to carry something that heavy all of the time? You said that your 12 right? I hope that you have been eating your Wheaties...

Most of our games aren't formal enough to break down into squad positions.

My suggestion to you is that you first acquire a decent primary gun. Come to games. Anyone can pull a trigger but it takes practice to hit what you want to hit. So learn to be a rifleman first, learn your primary weapon. If you can't hit anything with a lighter weapon, then there is no way in hell that you will be able to hit anything with something a lot heavier.

I agree with the Ninja Dude. Everyone likes the thought of the big, beefy guns. Once you start carrying that much weight things change. Also remember that a support gunner would need to big box mags to be effective. your costs for what a support gunner needs are going to be significantly (double and triple) higher than you are looking at.

Ok 'cause I just thought that it might be helpful because it would good to have a support gunner. And I meant polling our money to get one.And I didn't mean me to carry it I was thinking of one of you guys carry it.

Oh by the way Reid I didn't mean a SAW I just meant any type of support gun like a M60 or a M240 or of course a M249 SAW.

get a Cyma cmo31 ak74, you could get box mags for it, not to heavy only 5-8 lbs unlike a 20lbs SAW and it goes around 395 fps Max

The SAW is a nice wall hanger for right now. It comes out to slay during OP's where we're planning as running as a unit. Otherwise it's too much of a 17 pound pain in the ass to haul out to skirmish with.

I want to convert it into a MK46 one of these days...

It sure did a good job providing cover fire for the Russians. I would like to play a few more games where we participate as a team. We'll have to throw down the gauntlet some time when you are feeling better.

If I remember correctly but didn't the Americans slay the commie slime. I remember some American Idiot running in an open field trying to take on the Russians like he had just finished watching brave heart the night before.
